Keep essentials accessible

Carry your accommodation address in Chinese, an offline copy of important confirmations and a way to contact your accommodation. Store backup documents securely.

Plan for a long day out

Bring comfortable shoes, a refillable water bottle and layers suited to the forecast. In hilly cities such as Chongqing, short routes can still be demanding.

Prepare your phone

Download the information you will need before leaving Wi-Fi. Confirm roaming or connectivity arrangements directly with your provider and test your chosen navigation tools.

Build in a fallback

Keep more than one way to contact your travel companions. Agree on a meeting point and avoid putting every important document exclusively on one device.
